Clinical anatomy for off-label botulinum toxin type A
Objectives: describe precisely how to translate anatomical dissections in clinical anatomy in off label areas for injection of BoNT-A
Introduction: Botulinum toxin A is injected more and more in many areas of the face and body not approved and so totally off label.
Materials / method: in the presentation it is highlighted how to study patients movements to understand exactly the insertion of mimetic muscles especially in the lower third of the face. Some patients have been studied and are then presented to check insertions of mimetic muscles and so decide the points of injection and units to relax them. It is a case history of clinical anatomical study
Results: results are shown in some patients of the case history after 15 days and possible improvements are proposed
Conclusion: clinical anatomy is crucial to understand mimetic muscle anatomy and then decide exacly what muscle, what part of the muscle how many units use according to differences present in all patients
