Beyond skin quality: potential dermatological indications for exosomes
Objectives: Evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combined use of exosomes and microneedling in dermatological clinical practice
Introduction: Exosomes, small extracellular vesicles secreted by various cell types, have garnered significant attention in recent years for their diverse roles in intercellular communication and tissue regeneration. In the field of dermatology, their potential goes beyond enhancing skin quality. This abstract explores the emerging applications of exosomes in dermatology, including skin repair post laser, hair restoration, and treatment for various skin disorders such as melasma,rosacea and photodamage.
Materials / method: 20 Patients were treated with exosomes and microneedling at time 0, after one month (time 1), after 2 months ( time 2) and after 3 months( time 3).
Patients were assessed using digital morphometry methods for skin conditions and dermoscopy for alopecia . Griffith, DLQI, Norwood and Ludwig scale were used in the study.
Results: All patients completed the study with improvement in the scores of the different evaluation scales
Conclusion: Exosomes appear promising not only in the management of aging but may have a role in dermatological clinical practice
