Testing of patient-oriented outcomes for blepharoplasty with nanofat grafting
Objectives: Blepharoplasty is suitable for lower eyelid rejuvenation purposes in the area of cosmetic surgery. As the scope of abrasions during the surgical approach through the conjunctiva is small, rejoining society can be expected soon after surgery. However, we should take excess skin into account because blepharoplasty does not involve skin incision. In order to improve wrinkles consisting of excess skin, we combine nanofat grafting with blepharoplasty.
Introduction: Nanofat grafting is different from conventional fat injection in that it breaks mature adipocyte actively in the creation process, increasing the ratio of fat-derived stem cells.
Face-Q® is a new standardized questionnaire that can be used as a tool for patient-oriented outcomes which can evaluate items independently.
We’ve incorporated Face-Q® as a trial to measure the satisfaction of patients of blepharoplasty combined approach.
Materials / method: Targets were patients of blepharoplasty combined approach at the facility during January to August 2019. Not included in the results of patients that is from the first 3 months post-operation, incomplete. Age (at time of operation), gender, and Face-Q® scores between 3 to 6 months post-operation were considered.
Results: We collected 40 such surveys. Face-Q® scores reveal a high satisfaction rate for blepharoplasty combined approach. The inclusion of surgical videos and pre and post-Vectra 3D® findings should be considered.
