Hair restoration with combination techniques
Objectives: This study aimed to confirm the combination of Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and nanofat to enhance the density results in high grade baldness patients
Introduction: Male Androgenetic Alopecia (MAGA) has been one of the most common reasons for consultation. Shaven FUE has been an attractive treatment option for patterns with severe AGA. FUE hair transplant is becoming most wanted with demand for higher density and coverage of baldness. It has evolved mainly with the aim of making the results look more natural with no scar. In high grade of baldness,scalp donor has limit to fulfill the required number of follicles for Norwood grade V and VI baldness. Nanofat can use combine with FUE for stimulate hair growth and prevent shock loss
Materials / method: Fifty male patients with poor density AGA in Hamilton Norwood Grade V-VI were enrolled in the research. All participants underwent one nanofat session and two FUE hair transplantation sessions. Nanofats were inject all scalp areas one month before the first session of FUE hair transplantation. The second session of FUE hair transplants were done after first session 6-9 months. All patients were general conditions. Assessment were evaluated with photography.
Results: Combination is a good result answer to cover higher grades of baldness. We harvested an average of 2500± grafts per session.Recipient density ranged from 40 FUE/cm2 to 50 FUE/cm2.Nanofat can effectively lead to natural density and appearance in one session. Nanofat helps enhance hair growth. The combination of FUE hair transplant and nanofat can improve high grade baldness that a large number of grafts. It can use combine with shaven FUE to cover up frontal and crown area balding.
Conclusion: According to the outcomes, nanofat and shaven FUE is satisfactory treatment for patients with high grade baldness. Nanofat contains abundant stromal vascular fraction cells and adipose-derived stem cells. Adiposed derived stem cells were still richly present in nanofat. It contains angiogenic growth factors and other molegules that can promote the growth of new blood vessels, which are essential for the nourishment of hair follicles. It provides high success rates for hair transplantation. Combined treatment with nanofat and and FUE is more effective than alone.
