Objectives: Scope of Plant based Exosomes in Non Scarring Alopecia
Introduction: What are Exosomes :
Exosomes are very small membrane bound vesicles (30-150 nm) that are produced in various cell organelle. Depending on their cell of origin they may contain substances like Growth factors, Lipids, Ceramides, Nucleic Acids such as Deoxy nucleic acid and messenger Ribo nucleic acid, Ribosomal proteins and Metabollic enzymes.
How they work : Exosomes can transfer these substances to other cells and help in intracellular communication.
In various kinds of Alopecia these super tiny nano particles modulate the immune response of cells and relays signals between cells in turn
Materials / method: Methods: Retrospective analysis of patients treated with plant-based exosomes via microneedling combined with superficial injections (mesotherapy)
Number of patients selected for reviewing results is 40.
1 vial ( 5ml when reconstituted with Normal saline) is used per patient for each treatment.
Results: Results :
My results are based on patient satisfaction and Gais score.
75 - 80 % of my patients showed marked reduction in hairfall after just one to two sessions spaced 3 months apart
90 % patients with post covid or typhoid fever showed increased hair volume after just one session of Exosome therapy combined with microneedling
65 % patients with Androgenic Alopecia showed a substantial restoration of hair volume after 2 to 3 treatments spaced 2 to 3 months apart.
Some patients had decreased grey hair after treatment. Improvement in patients with sebhoric dermatitis dandruff
Conclusion: These Nano sized Bioactive particles are the new superheroes in treating various hair and skin problems and are producing great results when used alone or in conjunction with other modalities like Microneedling, RF Microneedling, Ablative & Non Ablative lasers and Prp. Sky is the limit as new research and technology is bringing safer and more effective varieties.
