Objectives: The author will present the aesthetic concepts of gynecomastia treatment including the management of the breast gland and excess skin through surgery with minimal scars. Instead of excising skin and creating visible scars, new techniques allow to distribute tissues correctly, to induce skin retraction and absorb excess skin. Both EBD and minimal invasive regenerative treatments that are part of the treatment protocol will be showcased. Introduction: Gynecomastia surgery has long suffered from a simplistic perception - the surgeon was just supposed to take out the excess breast gland. Nowadays, 4D and HIDEF liposuction concepts have redefined the anatomic features that should be the aesthetic endpoint of both liposuction and gynecomastia surgery. Conclusion: The enhanced understanding of the aesthetic outcome of a gynecomastia correction allows for improved surgical results and patient satisfaction. Combining HIDEF ultrasound assisted liposuction with EBD for skin modulation enhances the results further and reduces the necessity for visible scars.
