Correction of age-related changes on the hands: a comprehensive approach to rejuvenation of the area that reveals age
Objectives: To develop and evaluate a comprehensive treatment protocol combining volumization, vascular management, and skin quality improvement for optimal hand rejuvenation outcomes.
Introduction: The aging process of the hands involves multiple factors including volume depletion, skin atrophy, pigmentation and increased visibility of venous structures. These changes collectively create an aged appearance that often contrasts with a rejuvenated face. Traditional isolated approaches focusing solely on veins or volume provide limited and temporary results, highlighting the need for an integrated methodology addressing all anatomical layers.
Materials / method: A prospective study included 45 patients. The treatment:Skin preparation: Injection of using a preparation with amino acids.
EBD treatment: Microneedle RF procedure for treating pigmentation, skin tightening and texture improvement.
Skin Enhancement: Injections of collagen-stimulating agents (PLLA+HA) with combustion of microneedle RF plus superficial solution with grows factors for improved texture, hydration, and elasticity.
Volumization: Precise subcutaneous administration of high-density HA fillers to restore structural support and provide a cushioning effect over venous structures.
Results: The combined approach demonstrated significant improvement, with 91% of patients rated as "Improved" or "Much Improved" on the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale at 6-month follow-up. The sequential treatment provided synergistic effects, where volumization effectively camouflaged venous patterns while skin treatments enhanced overall quality. Patient satisfaction scores averaged 4.6/5, with particular appreciation for the natural-looking results.
Conclusion: Effective hand rejuvenation requires a comprehensive approach that addresses volume loss, vascularity, and deterioration of skin quality. The proposed sequential protocol, beginning with skin revitalization, followed by RF microneedle therapy and structural volumization, provides comprehensive and lasting results. This methodology emphasizes the importance of a layered anatomical approach to achieve natural results that meet modern aesthetic standards.
