PDO threads, CaHA & PLLA for vulvar flaccidity
Objectives: In 20 women (30–60 y), PDO threads, CaHA, and PLLA addressed labia majora sagging. PDO suited minimal volumization, CaHA improved tissue support, and PLLA treated extensive flaccidity. Treatments, often 2 sessions, were safe with no complications. CaHA gave higher satisfaction for its immediate effect, while PLLA required more sessions for collagen stimulation. Proper patient selection and expectation management are essential for optimal results.
Introduction: Labia majora sagging is a common concern among women aged 30–60, causing aesthetic and functional discomfort. Advances in biostimulators and absorbable threads have enabled non-surgical rejuvenation with natural results. PDO, CaHA, and PLLA offer distinct mechanisms—mechanical lift, biostimulation, and collagen induction—allowing tailored approaches based on degree of flaccidity and desired volumization.
Materials / method: Twenty women aged 30–60 were treated with absorbable biomaterials according to clinical indication. PDO threads were used for mild laxity without volumization; CaHA for moderate flaccidity and tissue support; PLLA for diffuse atrophy requiring collagen restoration. Procedures were performed under local anesthesia in one to two sessions, following aseptic technique and post-care protocol.
Results: All patients showed improvement in firmness and contour of labia majora, with no complications. CaHA achieved the highest immediate satisfaction due to instant support and texture improvement. PDO threads provided subtle lifting and definition, while PLLA offered progressive results after two sessions. Combined treatments enhanced elasticity and tissue density in advanced flaccidity cases.
Conclusion: PDO, CaHA, and PLLA are safe, effective options for non-surgical labial rejuvenation. CaHA provides faster visible outcomes, PLLA ensures long-term collagen stimulation, and PDO threads refine contour with minimal volume. Proper patient selection and clear expectation management are essential for achieving natural, harmonious, and lasting aesthetic and functional results.
