Using artificial intelligence to improve patient education and support practice growth - a practical guide for dermatologists
Objectives: To present a practical simplified approach to using artificial intelligence (AI) for creating short, patient-focused video content that enhances understanding and contributes to overall practice efficiency.
Introduction: Dermatologists frequently encounter recurring patient questions regarding procedures, outcomes, and safety. At the same time, patient expectations are increasingly dependent on social media. This creates a need for accurate and reliable methods of patient communication
Materials / method: This presentation is based on real-world use of AI tools to develop educational videos using mobile and desktop platforms. A simple workflow will be demonstrated, including identifying common patient concerns, writing scientifically-accurate scripts, generating automated short-form videos, and optimizing content for clarity and engagement. Examples of the real-world use will also be shown.
Results: AI-assisted workflow enables easy and rapid creation of easy-to-understand educational content. In practice, this approach can reduce time spent on repetitive explanations, improve patient clarity regarding procedures and expected outcomes. Improved communication may also contribute to sustainable practice growth.
Conclusion: AI can be integrated as a practical tool for patient education and communication in the aesthetic practice. When guided by clinician's judgment, it offers an efficient way to deliver accurate, engaging information while supporting both clinical workflow and practice development.
