Prejuvenation: is it a Gen Z thing?

Introduction: Prejuvenation is a term coined by this group called the Gen Z, born between 1997-2012. Prejuvenation refers to medical treatments before the visible signs of aging appear, so these are non invasive and mainly for prevention. Studies show that as early as 18 years of age, people are starting to lose 1% of collagen annually. Common treatments for anti-aging like skin boosters often involve needles through mesotherapy. The aim is to identify treatments that act as skin boosters without the use of needles.
Materials / method: There are 2 treatments that act as skin boosters that do not involve needles which may be suitable for younger individuals: Spicules and Carboxytherapy. Spicules are fine structures extracted from the bones of sponges, with lengths ranging from 100 μm to 300 μm that can deeply penetrate the dermis and activate microcirculation. Carboxytherapy is a non-invasive CO2 procedure that integrates the principles of Bohr Effect which is applicable as a universal pre-procedure booster program or regeneration program without the use of needles.
Results: Spicule treatment acts through skin exfoliation for skin renewal and regeneration. It has both anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Carboxytherapy induces pore reduction, skin brightening and facial lifting. It enhances elasticity and reduces fine lines. Both Spicule treatment and carboxytherapy can also improve acne and sebum regulation.
Conclusion: Spicule treatment and Carboxytherapy treatment can act as skin boosters without the use of needles. They can prevent the appearance of visible signs of aging and are suitable for younger age group.
