Objectives: The chin area is in female or male harmonizing the facial proportions. We can differentiate the genetically small chin from the aged chin area, where bony structures get lost during the aging process.

Introduction: Specially in the last years the chin area has become more and more important, since the all over easy photography with mobile phones, no matter if as selfie or not, has made everyone’s insight in their profile easily possible and the awareness of facial proportions have raised in our patients tremendously.

Materials / method: The chin area is in female or male harmonizing the facial proportions. We can differentiate the genetically small chin from the aged chin area, where bony structures get lost during the aging process.
Some years ago the only possible approach to build up and project the chin more individually has been possible with chin implants. Today we have several filler products which can augment and project the chin similarly.

Results: Tips and tricks for the best individual outcome and the favorable injection technique will be presented, which can be adapted in each patient for an individual beautiful result

Conclusion: Beautifying the chin area with a filler asks from us doctors a very high sensitivity for individuality and ethnic group knowledge and is never a 1 injection point approach. Wrong injection techniques can feminize or muscularize patients in an unwanted way
