Exosomes are "The Real Deal."

Exosomes are small extracellular vesicles that play a role in cell-to-cell communication. They contain high amount of proteins, growth factors, anti-inflammatory and immune modulators which have been studied for their potential therapeutic applications in various medical fields, including regenerative medicine.

Hereby I’m thrilled to share my experiences and clinical cases whereby exosomes derived from rose stem cells are used and delivered with micro-needling

How do these exosomes work?

  • Growth factors and signalling molecules in exosomes stimulating hair follicle cells, promoting their proliferation and differentiation.
  • Anti-Inflammatory properties in exosomes are very helpful to help reduce down inflammation which is often associated with hair loss conditions. This in turn maintaining a healthy environment for hair growth too.
  • Exosomes facilitates tissue regeneration and repair, aiding in the regeneration of hair follicles.
  • Exosomes stimulate angiogenesis, and therefore improved blood circulation to the scalp hence stimulate hair health and grow.
  • Exosomes modulate stimulatory or suppressive effects on the innate immune system through exosome-mediated intercellular communications. They are crucial in immune regulation, including antigen presentation, immune activation, immune suppression, and immune tolerance. These properties are the essences in treating autoimmune scalp conditions such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, frontal fibrosing alopecia as well as alopecia areata.

Here are case studies purely with exosome as a stand alone treatment in different age groups, sexes, with underlying inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.

ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA (MALE PATTERN BALDNESS)

65 y.o patient before and 5 months later after receiving 4 treatments 4 weeks apart.

FRONTAL FIBROSING ALOPECIA

60 y.o diagnosed with FFA 10 years ago and treated with steroid injections by her dermatologist and subsequently discharged with topical steroid. Hair is still thinning and skin on upper forehead has become paper thin.

ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA (FEMALE PATTERN BALDNESS)

65 y.o patient before and 5 months later after receiving 4 treatments 4 weeks apart.

SCALP PSORIASIS WITH SECONDARY HAIR LOSS

56 y.o had 2 sessions of treatment. Before: Inflamed scalp with thinning and unhealthy hair strands. After picture taken at 8 weeks from first treatment. Scalp has calm and there is significant hair growth noted with improvement of colour and texture of existing hair.

ALOPECIA AREATA

45 y.o before and 4 months after single treatment

SCALP PSORIASIS WITH SECONDARY HAIR LOSS

30 y.o with known scalp psoriasis and secondary hair loss responded really well after 3 sessions.

ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA (MALE PATTERN BALDNESS)

45 y.o patient who has been on oral minoxidil & finasteride for 4 year seeing no difference in the growth and quality of his hair

People often focus on the quantity of exosomes in products, but the key lies in their purity. Having a high number of exosomes is irrelevant if the purity is poor. Exosomes are invaluable in treating various inflammatory conditions, especially in regions like Ireland with a high prevalence of such conditions. Exosomes could serve as a superior alternative to steroids for this patient group, potentially reducing long-term negative effects associated with steroid use.

As a healthcare provider, I aim to deliver safe, effective, and affordable treatments with minimal risks of contamination or infection, ensuring minimal downtime for patients. My approach is rooted in evidence-based medicine, prioritising the improvement of my patients' quality of life. I see the use of exosomes as the start of a groundbreaking era in regenerative medicine, with vast potential in aesthetic procedures, general medicine, and surgical applications.
