Dr A Nassif’s short biography

After a Dermatology resident training in Reims University, then a Dermatology chief residency in Rouen University, Dr Aude Nassif passed ECFMG and moved to the US for 3 years, where she passed FLEX and trained in Atopic Dermatitis with Pr Jon Hanifin at Portland OHSU. After coming back to Paris, she worked on atopic dermatitis and contact eczema at Tarnier-Cochin Hospital in the Department of Dermatology for 10 years. She was then hired at the Pasteur Institute and has been working on Hidradenitis Suppurativa for the past 11 years. Studying the flora isolated from Hidradenitis Suppurativa lesions by prolonged cultures, she and Dr Olivier Join-Lambert proposed a new hypothesis of host-microbiome disease and subsequently developed a targeted antibiotherapy relying on these results. They also hypothesized that biofilms might be responsible for constant relapses in scars and with Dr Maïa Delage they developed a strategy combining antibiotherapy and surgery. With Pr Alain Hovnanian, Dr Nassif is also interested in genetics of HS and their team confirmed genetic heterogeneity in French families and PASH patients.
