Claude Oppikofer, MD, BLaw is a Swiss FMH Board certified Plastic Surgeon, born 1954 in Berne, Switzerland. He has been in private practice in Montreux, Switzerland, from 1991 to 2022 as owner and director of Chirurgie Plastique Riviera, the Swiss Center for Excellence in Plastic Surgery and Aesthetic Medicine. A former flight surgeon of the Swiss Air Force, Claude Oppikofer, has always kept a particular interest for questions of patient safety and been lecturing on this subject. He is the former chair on the Patient Safety Committee on the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery ASAPS. Furthermore, he has done pioneer work in Quality Management in Plastic surgery. His office has been the first to be certified according to ISO 9000 in 2003 already. More recently, Claude Oppikofer has developed a particular interest for all questions related to Artificial Intelligence in Plastic Surgery and has been Section Editor for Artificial Intelligence of Aesthetic Surgery Journal from 2023 to 2025. In Switzerland, his company Medlaw Consult GmbH has become a reference as the link between medicine and law.
