Qualifications: 2012 MRCS RCSENG2009 MB BS Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry-1st class honours2003 BSc (Hons) Biochemistry & Molecular Biology -1st class HonoursGrowing up in a country ravaged by war, I knew early on that I wanted to become a reconstructive plastic surgeon. The experience opened my eyes to the plight of others and the need for surgeons to improve these victims survival rates, their over all quality of life, but most importantly their chance of having a sustainable infrastructure to meet the needs of the local population. For over 15 years now I have been involved in voluntary efforts to help people have a better quality of life, and a better chance at life. My roles have been diverse, and this is partly due to my changing experience and opportunities along the way, but on the whole I have been involved in all areas of charity work and management from setting up a charity, raising public awareness, fundraising, data collection, conference organization, teaching, training, research and appraisal. I am currently a plastic surgery registrar in London and still keep active with my charity commitments travelling annually to Vietnam and Lebanon for various projects and with plans to travel to Peru in the spring.
