Dr. Russ Kridel has been practicing Facial Plastic Surgery for over 30 years and has performed thousands of rhinoplasties since completing his fellowship with nose pioneer William K. Wright in Houston, Texas. Known in rhinoplasty for his original work and descriptions of the lateral crural steal, the lateral crural overlay, the medial crural overlay, and the tongue-in-groove technique, Dr. Kridel has over 100 peer reviewed publications, articles, and text book contributions. His in-depth study on rib cartilage grafting in the nose was hailed by the editor of JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery as a landmark study. Another area of special interest for Russ is in the repair of complex septal perforations for which he has gained international recognition. The American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) honored him twice for his excellence in facial plastic surgery by giving him both the F. Mark Rafaty and the William K. Wright awards. In addition to his nose practice, he also has a fine reputation for aging face surgery.

Dr. Kridel is a full clinical professor at the University of Texas in Houston and has trained more than 35 fellows. He has also served as National President of the AAFPRS and is a Board examiner for the ABFPRS. Committed to change in the political process, Dr. Kridel currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association and has been active in his county and state medical societies. In 2016, he won the AAFPRS Stephen C. Duffy Leadership and Health Policy Advocacy Award.
