Dr. Franck Zal is the Co-founder of Hemarina. He brings his internationally recognized scientific expertise to the field of the respiratory pigments of invertebrates. After his Ph.D. he spent three years abroad, two years at the University of Santa Barbara in California (USA) and one year at the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Dr. Zal is the author of over 100 publications in international peer reviewed scientific journals, the author of many patents and he presented his work in numerous international meetings. He hold a Ph.D and HDR from the university of Paris VI and a MBA from the ESC Rennes. Furthermore he received a bronze medal of the CNRS in 2001 and numerous awards for his works.
