Lukas Maria PRANTL Prof

Lukas Prantl, Prof. M.D., Ph.D., MHBA is an internationally known plastic surgeon. He is Professor and Chairman of the Center of Plastic and Aesthetic, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Regensburg, Medical Center.

Dr. Prantl has been the recipient of different prestigious national and international research awards and has been Chair and faculty member of numerous national and international conferences.  As an innovative surgeon and scientist, he has published more than 300 peer review articles and 30 book chapters. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Stanford University, California and FUDAN University, Shanghai. He is founder of the Applied Stem Cell Research Center and a member of the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell team. In recent year, he focused on the harvesting of stem cells from adipose tissue (ASCs) and the clinical application for tissue regeneration. To this purpose, he has developed a new method for the enrichment of fat stem cells (Cell Enriched Lipotransfer - CELT) to improve the engraftment rate.

He has developed a new evidence based online teaching platform for plastic surgery, PlastiCademy
