IMCAS Alert: Rules & Code of Conduct

IMCAS Alert allows doctors to connect to experts worldwide and receive answers and advice about specific cases and patients. When a doctor faces a treatment complication, he/she anonymously submits the clinical case to a community of experts for feedback.
IMCAS Alert is provided by IMCAS Academy with the collaboration of Aesthetic Consilium.

Main goals

Decreasing the number and severity of complications following treatments in aesthetic medicine.
Timely and effective resolution of existing complications.

Tasks

Task 1: Providing qualified expertise regarding the diagnosis and treatment of complications in the fastest way possible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (minimum one expert’s feedback)

Task 2: Prevention of complications by supporting effective, non-biased education and increasing professional expertise of IMCAS Alert members

Task 3: Managing professional interaction and communication of specialists in aesthetic medicine and related medical specialties

Key principles:

  1. Medical ethics
  2. Respect for others’ opinions
  3. No commercial content such as ads or bias
  4. No political or racial discussions
  5. Awareness of any relevant copyright laws
  6. Communication must be in English

Organizational and regulatory article

  1. Users are encouraged to include information about personal qualifications and levels of techniques and methodology
  2. Commercial posts, whether about companies or products, are strictly prohibited. Commercial names are allowed in the context of explaining a treatment of complication history, however, we would appreciate the use of generic names wherever possible. Following the direct request of experts, in order to provide extra information for diagnosis, commercial names of drugs can be provided.
  3. Only moderators may post information about conferences or education programs. Such events must be non-commercial and without any direct link to a particular pharmaceutical company. Information about aforementioned events must be sent to the moderators and will be posted or declined within seven days. When information is declined, an explanation will be provided.
  4. Usage of photos and/or opinions from the group is possible only after written permission (can be by email) from the author/owner. We recommend obtaining informed consent from a patient wherever it is possible and changing/cutting/blurring photos where possible in order to ensure faces are difficult to recognize.
  5. English is the main language of communication. Other languages are possible if the author provides a translation in English. Non-English posts without English translation will be deleted.
  6. Repeat violators will be punished by temporary or permanent exclusion from the group.
  7. In case of necessity, any member of IMCAS Academy can write a request to the moderators for anonymous case publication.
