Abstract

Objectives: The aim of the study was to identify ultrasound and morphological changes in the epidermis and dermis after exposure to radiofrequency microneedling, microsfocused ultrasound, and photodynamic therapy in mono- and combined techniques. Introduction: Ultrasound and histological changes in tissues after the use of enegy-based techniques or a combination of them are described rather poorly in the scientific literature. Materials / method: The umbilical region of 4 patients was divided into 5 sectors, each was subjected to a hardware procedure: Segment I: Radiofrequency mecroneedling Segment II: Microsfocused ultrasound Segment III: Photodynamic therapy. Segment IV: Combination of radiofrequency microneedling, microsfocused ultrasound and photodynamic therapy in one procedure. Segment V: control The control methods included histological examination and ultrasound examination before exposure and 30 days after correction. In segment III, the deep layers of the skin were not changed, but the epidermis looked more uniform and clearer. In segment IV, the most pronounced changes were revealed in all tissue layers. During histological examination in segment I, a moderate thickening of the epidermis was observed, with a slight increase in the density of collagen fibers Conclusion: The results of this study confirm the effectiveness of all these techniques and correlate with previously published works. At the same time, the signs of tissue remodeling are predictably most pronounced after combined exposure.
