3S (support, spacer, strip) approach to treat lower eyelid malposition after aesthetic blepharoplasty
Objectives: The method of three S (spacer, strip, support) is described for correction of lower eyelid malpositions after aestethic blepharoplasty
Introduction: Lower eyelid malpositions is an arising problem after platic eyelid and face surgery.
Materials / method: Case series of lower eyelid retraction, ectropion and entropion is presented. Isolated spacer implantation (skin graft, oral mucosa graft, tarsal plate graft, hard palate, teflon, acelular matrix) and lateral tarsal strip or tunnes canthoplasty were used.
Results: The combination of spacer implantation, lateral tarsal strip and mid face lift to support the eyelid (three S tecnique) proved to be the most reliable to correct lower eyelid malposition after aesthetic blepharoplasty
Conclusion: Team work of oculoplastic and plastic surgeons is often necessary to corrects lower eyelid retraction, entropion or ectropion
