Ticket to the time travel of aesthetic medicine skin repair
Objectives: The periorbital region is anatomically delicate and functionally complex, representing one of the earliest facial areas to demonstrate visible manifestations of intrinsic and extrinsic ageing. Structural degeneration typically begins after the age of 25 and progresses gradually. Key biological changes include a decline in fibroblast density and metabolic activity, reduced synthesis of collagen types I and III, elastin fibre fragmentation, dermal thinning, extracellular matrix attenuation, ligamentous laxity, and compromised microcirculation. Oxidative stress and cumulative ultraviolet exposure
Introduction: To evaluate the clinical and biophysical effects of Erbium:YAG laser therapy combined with enhanced dermal hydration on fibroblast activation, collagen remodelling, ligament tightening, and aesthetic improvement of the periorbital area without significant recovery time and pain.
Patients presenting with early to moderate periorbital ageing were enrolled in a prospective clinical protocol designed to evaluate the combined effect of dermal hydration optimization and controlled Erbium:YAG laser stimulation. Inclusion criteria included fine rhytides, mild to moderate laxity, crepey skin etc
Materials / method: Patients presenting with early to moderate periorbital ageing were enrolled in a prospective clinical protocol designed to evaluate the combined effect of dermal hydration optimization and controlled Erbium:YAG laser stimulation. Inclusion criteria included fine rhytides, mild to moderate laxity, crepey skin texture, and early alterations in eyelid contour not requiring surgical correction. Exclusion criteria comprised active dermatologic disease in the treatment area, pregnancy, uncontrolled systemic illness, recent resurfacing procedures, photosensitizing medication use. Had lasers sessions
Results: Clinical observations demonstrated immediate mild tissue tightening attributable to collagen contraction, followed by progressive improvement over subsequent weeks consistent with fibroblast activation and neocollagenesis. Patients exhibited reduction of fine rhytides, improved skin texture, enhanced luminosity, and visible periorbital tightening. Eyelid aperture appeared subtly increased due to connective tissue support modulation. The procedure was well tolerated, associated with minimal discomfort. No significant adverse events, structural compromise, or functional impairment were observe
Conclusion: The combination of Erbium:YAG laser therapy with optimized dermal hydration using hyaluronic acid and sterile water with silver ions represents a synergistic, non-invasive regenerative strategy for periorbital rejuvenation. Enhanced tissue hydration improves photothermal interaction, facilitating controlled fibroblast stimulation, collagen remodelling, and connective tissue tightening. This protocol supports both immediate structural contraction and long-term dermal regeneration while preserving epidermal integrity and minimizing recovery time.
