Objectives: Pain associated with post-herpetic neuralgia is frequently refractory to treatment and may persist for years, negatively impacting patients' quality of life.
Numerous interventions are available for symptom control in patients with post-herpetic neuralgia, but there is currently no disease-modifying therapy.
The use of BTX-A for treating post-herpetic neuralgia produced very positive results with very few adverse reactions. BTX-A can be considered as a valid approach in the treatment of PNH, especially in patients that do not respond well to painkillers.
