Non-surgical gluteal beautification: results and impact of the combination of dermal fillers and biostimulators

Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of the combination of
collagen biostimulators and HA-based fillers in volumizing and improving the gluteal contour, analyzing the impact of the therapeutic combination on the projection and definition of the gluteal contour, determining the duration and evaluating patient satisfaction with the results obtained.

Introduction: The search for minimally invasive aesthetic procedures has grown exponentially in recent years, driven by the demand for natural results, safety and shorter recovery times. Gluteal volumization through the combination of collagen biostimulators and hyaluronic acid-based fillers has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional surgical procedures, offering improved contour, projection and skin quality in the gluteal region. Collagen biostimulators in association with hyaluronic acid-based fillers offer an innovative alternative that enhances results, providing a harmonious and long-lasting

Materials / method: The patients selected were women aged between 18 and 45, with no previous history of treatments in the gluteal region, who were suitable to undergo an injectable procedure involving HA and biostimulators. The buttocks were assessed in terms of shape, validated by a scale by Mendieta et. al 2018, and also by the degree of skin laxity at the site to be treated. A diagnosis was then made to
determine the product rationale required for the best aesthetic performance. The patients were then followed up periodically for 1 year, assessing satisfaction with the treatment, possible AE and USG mapping.

Results: The HA was applied in the superficial subcutaneous plane and the collagen biostimulator in the juxta-dermal plane, safely and without reports of complications that required intervention by the researcher. There was an increase in dermal thickness proven by USG and maintenance of the filler at the treated site, even 1 year after application. Patient satisfaction was over 80% throughout the period and
the photographic results were progressively satisfactory.

Conclusion: A proper assessment of the shape of the buttocks, which varies according to the patient's biotype, leads to an assertive diagnosis for a detailed approach to the patient's complaint and the degree of sagging. The combination of injectable HA promotes immediate, long-lasting volumization with a high level of satisfaction. Further studies are needed to assess the maximum dosage of products for patient safety.

Personalized Periorbital Rejuvenation: Integrated Techniques for the Modern Practitioner

Objectives: To present a multimodal, personalized treatment approach for periorbital rejuvenation using a combination of injectables, energy-based devices, and thread lifting, aiming for natural, long-lasting results that reflect global best practices.

Introduction: The periorbital area is often the first region to show visible signs of aging, including dynamic wrinkles, volume loss, dermal thinning, and pigmentation. Given its anatomical complexity and aesthetic sensitivity, a single-modality approach frequently yields suboptimal results. A customized, layered strategy is essential for achieving natural rejuvenation and restoring youthful eye contours.

Materials / method: This approach integrates the following techniques:

Neuromodulators to reduce dynamic rhytids

Soft-tissue fillers or biostimulators (e.g., HA, CaHA, or polynucleotides) for volume restoration and collagen stimulation

Energy-based devices (e.g., monopolar RF, fractional laser, or ultrasound) to improve skin laxity and texture

PDO threads for structural support and soft tissue repositioning

Each treatment is tailored based on patient-specific factors such as skin type, anatomical variation, and aging severity. Timing, layering, and selection of modalities are adjusted to enhance syne

Results: The integrated treatment protocol yields:

Conclusion: Periorbital rejuvenation requires a thoughtful, individualized approach that combines multiple modalities to address the layered nature of aging. By understanding facial anatomy and applying evidence-based global techniques, practitioners can achieve harmonious, long-lasting, and natural results that meet modern aesthetic expectations.

Ideal injection methods in Asia: ABCR for male patients

Objectives: When performing injectable treatments for male patients, this paper discusses the pathophysiology of aging in men, anatomical differences from women, as well as skeletal differences between Western and Asian men. Furthermore, it explores injection approaches that take into account trends based on patient demographics. Additionally, the treatment goals for male patients will also be addressed.

Introduction: Traditionally, aesthetic treatments for men have primarily focused on enhancing masculine features. However, recent trends in male aesthetics are changing. Men's perception of aesthetic medicine often differs significantly from that of women. Among various treatments, filler injections have gained increasing popularity in recent years due to their non-invasive nature and minimal downtime.

Materials / method: A survey was conducted on 1,000 Asian men aged 20 to 45 years (average age: 35.7 ± 9) to assess their needs for aesthetic medicine and their ideal facial features. Additionally, considering anatomical differences across genders and ethnicities, an injection approach suitable for Asian men was examined.

Results: Through the survey on male perceptions, we were able to identify men's ideal facial features and aesthetic trends. Additionally, injectable treatments for the lower face allowed us to achieve results that closely matched individual male preferences. While these preferences do not necessarily correlate with anatomical characteristics, they can be effectively realized by applying an appropriate injection approach based on an algorithm. Furthermore, a high level of satisfaction was achieved among many male patients who underwent the treatment.

Conclusion: While the number of male patients is increasing yearly, many men undergo aesthetic treatments based on an uncertain understanding of what is and is not possible, as well as the specific treatment methods, costs, and downtime involved. Anatomical structures and the concept of attractiveness differ between genders and ethnicities. Therefore, when consulting and treating male patients, it is essential to understand their needs and adopt a tailored approach.

Optimizing double-chin treatments: synergistic lipolysis using RF cannula and PC+DCA injections - A controlled study

Objectives: To compare submental fat reduction using subdermal radiofrequency lipolysis (19G insulated cannula) alone versus adding phosphatidylcholine (PC) + deoxycholic acid (DCA) mesolipolysis. Key outcomes include changes in subcutaneous thickness (via ultrasound), skin tightening, adverse events, and patient satisfaction. We hypothesized that combined therapy yields enhanced adipocyte disruption and improved submental contour over RF alone.

Introduction: Submental fullness often prompts minimally invasive interventions. Cannula-based RF lipolysis delivers focused thermal injury to adipocytes while inducing collagen tightening. Mesolipolysis with PC+DCA chemically dissolves fat cells. Limited data exist on combining both strategies for double-chin reduction. We designed this trial to investigate whether dual-modality lipolysis surpasses RF alone in reducing submental thickness and enhancing patient-reported outcomes.

Materials / method: A prospective cohort (n=16; mean age 44±5.2 years; 8 men, 8 women) was split into two equal groups. Group A received a single subdermal RF session at ~10–15W (3 passes), while Group B received identical RF plus two mesolipolysis injections (PC 250 mg+DCA 125 mg in 10 mL) at weeks 2 and 6. Submental thickness was assessed by ultrasound. Statistical analyses (paired t-tests, repeated-measures ANOVA) were conducted using SPSS v26 (p<0.05 significant).

Results: Baseline submental thickness averaged 28.9±3.2 mm. At 8 weeks, Group A showed a 20.3% mean reduction (p=0.031), whereas Group B achieved 31.6% (p<0.001). Between-group ANOVA indicated significantly greater improvement in Group B (F=6.42, p=0.009). Effect size for combined therapy was d=1.02, suggesting strong clinical benefit. Satisfaction scores were 7.1±0.8 (RF alone) vs. 8.5±0.9 (combined). Mild bruising was the most common side effect.

Conclusion: Subdermal RF lipolysis effectively reduces submental fat, and adding PC+DCA injections confers statistically and clinically superior outcomes. The combination achieved notably higher fat-volume reduction without additional complications, boosting patient satisfaction. These findings support a dual-therapy protocol as a robust alternative for managing double-chin concerns, warranting larger-scale investigations to refine dosing and validate long-term stability of results.

Minimally invasive spicule-based delivery for periorbital wrinkle improvement: effects of peptide and glutathione-based booster

Objectives: To assess the efficacy of a minimally invasive peptide delivery system,
independently and in combination with a glutathione-based booster (glutathione + TA + PDRN), in reducing periorbital wrinkles. Comparative analyses were conducted against established invasive treatments, including microneedling radiofrequency (RFMN) and the 1064nm picosecond Nd:YAG laser.

Introduction: Periorbital wrinkles are a common focus in aesthetic dermatology, traditionally
addressed through invasive treatments such as lasers and microneedling. This study evaluates a minimally invasive peptide delivery system, utilizing hydrolyzed sponges bonded with GHK tripeptide and acetyl-hexa-8-peptide. The system activates via skin-specific enzymes to deliver peptides directly into the lower epidermal layers with minimal downtime. The impact of a glutathione-based booster in enhancing peptide activation and efficacy is also investigated.

Materials / method: A split-face clinical trial was conducted with 20 participants (mean
age: 55.2 years). One side of the face received the peptide delivery system combined with the glutathione-based booster, while the other side received the peptide system alone. Treatments were administered weekly for five sessions. Periorbital wrinkle depth was assessed using Antera 3D imaging, and results were compared with published data from RFMN and the Nd:YAG laser.

Results: - The peptide delivery system alone achieved a 8.96% reduction in periorbital wrinkle depth after five sessions, comparable to the 7.58% reduction achieved with RFMN and the 9.28% reduction reported for the Nd:YAG laser.
- When combined with the glutathione-based booster, the reduction increased to 15.4%, indicating the booster’s role in enhancing peptide activation and clinical outcomes.
- Both treatments were well-tolerated, with no adverse events reported, highlighting their safety and suitability for patients seeking minimally invasive options.

Conclusion: The minimally invasive peptide delivery system offers a clinically effective and
safe option for periorbital wrinkle reduction, with results comparable to or exceeding conventional invasive treatments. The addition of a glutathione-based booster further enhances efficacy, offering a practical and patient-friendly alternative for non-invasive aesthetic improvement.
