Objectives: Learn the pros and cons about threading for the nose. Make judgment about to do or not to do nasal threading base on good assessment.
Introduction: It is well known that facial skeletal structures differ between Asians and Caucasians. In Asians, a wider face with flatter facial features, such as a flat nose or a short chin, are quite common. This makes nose reshaping a highly demanded procedure in Asian patients.
Materials / method: While multiple surgical procedures for nose reshaping and augmentation are available, nonsurgical nose reshaping options such as filler injections has seen a surge in popularity in the last 15 years. For example, there are increasing reports in literature of vascular occlusion, a possible side effect of filler injection, which may result in devastating sequelae such as filler-induced blindness. A recent publication in 2019 indicates the nasal area as the most high-risk area for blindness in facial injections. Use of threads may greatly reduce or eliminate this risk. However, perforation of threads through the insertion point often result in patient complaints and decreased satisfaction, which may in
Conclusion: In this talk, I will present the pros and cons of nasal threading, and offer my conclusion for the timing and indications of this technique.
