Objectives: SUMMARY LECTURE DR. SERGIO VAÑÓ
IMCAS CONGRESS JANUARY 2020
MY BEST THERAPIES FOR ANDROGENETIC ALOPECIA
During the lecture we will discuss 3 treatments for androgenetic alopecia:
a) Oral dutasteride: a 5 alpha reductase inhibitor that can be used off label in male and female androgenetic alopecia. It represents one of the most effective therapies for male androgenetic alopecia. We will present the results of our experience with the use of oral dutasteride in male patients, using doses between 0.25 and 0.5 mg daily.
Introduction: b) Oral minoxidil: we will review the usefulness of oral minoxidil for male and female androgenetic alopecia. In our experience, oral minoxidil is one of the most interesting therapies for female androgenetic alopecia, using doses between 0.5-1 mg daily.
c) Injections of dutasteride: we will present our experience and scientific evidence of an emergent treatment modality: mesotherapy with dutasteride.
