Genital treatments

Rapid advances in technology and the continuous improvement of prevention and treatment services have, in recent years, promptly changed the face of modern medicine, allowing researchers to focus not just on improving the quality of life but also on providing superior quality, effective clinical practices.

It is therefore not surprising that medicine today is able to offer simple and non-invasive solutions, even in the case of tissue relaxation in women’s vaginal area– a very common problem, which occurs as a result of women’s modern lifestyles as well as a misguided choice of exercise. Luckily for women, we can ‘avert’ the effects of these two factors which seem to play a hugely important part in the tissue alteration and physical changes in this sensitive area. More specifically, with my highly qualified team of experts, using our extensive experience in the field of rehabilitation of the inner and outer areas of the female genital area, and following years of extensive research, we devised a non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation treatment.

In simple terms, treatment involves the strengthening and tightening of the vaginal walls, without the need for surgery.

Treatment

What does this treatment consist of? In simple terms, treatment involves the strengthening and tightening of the vaginal walls, without the need for surgery. Furthermore, treatment is suitable in certain cases where vaginal relaxation is not accompanied by a severely prolapsed bladder (cystocele) or rectal prolapse (rectocele). In other instances, those changes can be corrected surgically.

The treatment aims to prevent and treat the symptoms of vaginal relaxation and urinary incontinence in a minimally invasive manner, as this procedure uses a specific laser, transmitted through a special cartridge that is inserted into the vagina.

The doctor focuses the laser beam at specific areas of the vaginal canal in order to stimulate the reproduction of collagen, increase the thickness of the vaginal epithelium and, as a result, reduce the width of the vaginal canal. This treatment – whose availability in Greece has been met with great appeal and success over the last three years – is performed at the doctor’s clinic, takes approximately 10-12 minutes, is completely painless and doesn’t require a local anesthetic. Treatment will require a total of three sessions (one per month).

Results

The results, following the completion of all three sessions, will last approximately two years. This way, the client can repeat the treatment at the end of the two years, with a view to maintaining the results. In any case, the prevention of tissue aging is a particularly important aspect. Many women have used this particular treatment after childbirth, once a sensible period of time has passed, with excellent results in terms of the prevention of symptoms of vaginal relaxation and the occurrence of urinary stress incontinence. Based on our experience over the last six years in England, where we have been practicing this treatment, women who underwent treatment were highly satisfied with the results, having reached a level of satisfaction without the need for surgery.
