Lymphatic drainage and lifting techniques in botulinum toxin therapy

Objetivos: To optimize botulinum toxin therapy protocols by integrating lymphatic drainage and lifting Introducción: Traditionally, botulinum toxin therapy is associated with the relaxation of facial muscles to smooth wrinkles. However, modern anatomical research and clinical experience demonstrate that targeted botulinum toxin administration can influence not only facial expressions but also lymphatic drainage, while creating a lifting effect through redistribution of muscle tone. Ignoring the lymphatic component leads to incomplete correction of the edematous aging pattern and limits lifting outcomes. Materiales / método: • Lymphatic drainage methods: microdose injection of botulinum toxin type A per point into the superficial bundles of the lateral platysma muscle (the "lymphatic gate" area of the neck), as well as lifting techniques in patients with mobile ear canals and a single-belly fronto-occipital muscle. Photo and video treatments Resultados: In patients with the deformational-edematous aging phenotype, the addition of lymphatic drainage techniques resulted in a reduction of morning edema in the lower eyelids, submental and preauricular areas. A pronounced effect of tissue volume reduction and lifting of the temporal region and lower third of the face was observed. Photos and videos of the procedures performed are presented. Conclusión: 1. Botulinum toxin therapy can serve not only as a method for wrinkle relaxation but also as a tool for lymphatic drainage correction – provided that microdoses are injected into key muscular structures compressing the lymphatic pathways. 2. Lifting effects are achieved through modulation of muscle tension vectors, not through "filling" of tissues. 3. The proposed combination of techniques is safe, reproducible, and particularly indicated for patients with the deformational-edematous aging phenotype who have previously responded poorly to standard neuroprotein therapy.
