Surgical site infection (SSI) is a common cause of post-operative morbidity. According to the latest report announced by CDC, the SSI accounts for 20% of healthcare-associated infection with a high risk of mortality up to twofold to 11-fold increase with high economic burden for the prolonged hospital stay.
