Dr. Joan Vandeputte began his surgical training at the Leuven University Hospital, Belgium and was a resident in plastic surgery in Bruges, Belgium and Nottingham, U.K.
He received the Prize of the Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery for scientific research on flexor tendon excursion in the hand in 1994.
He is a fellow of the Belgian Collegium Chirurgicum Plasticum (FCCP) and a fellow of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (EBOPRAS).
He is a full member of the Royal Belgian Society for Plastic Surgery since 1995 and a member of ISAPS.
In 1995 he started up the plastic surgery unit in the Oudenaarde General Hospital.
His private practice is entirely devoted to minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.
His prime interests are aesthetic facial surgery and volume replacement, facial skin cancer surgery, functional and aesthetic surgery of the eyelids, and body contouring. He has presented on these topics in workshops and plastic surgery meetings across the world and participated in, designed and chaired injection and dissection courses.
