Objectives: In the present study, we are aimed at creating a hybrid protocol, combining the application injectable poly-L-lactic acid and hyaluronic acid. The protocol has to meet the requirements safety, effecacy, and predictability of clinical results.
Introduction: There are pathological conditions, including scars and striae, as well as normal physiological processes, such as aging, associated with changes in the quality and quantity of collagen fibres in the skin. The possibility of predictable bioregulation of new collagen fibres production is a challenge that both manufacturers of collagen stimulators and dermatologists face whit.
Materials / method: Poly-L-lactic acid and uncrosslinked high molecular weight hyaluronic acid were injected in one zone, at one level, to a certain depth and within one treatment session. Dynamic monitoring was conducted for 6 weeks. Ultrasound study and histological examination of skin biopsies were used to estimate the result of the treatment.
Results: We revealed a common trend including reduction in rehabilitation period and achievement of positive clinical results witch took less time in comparison with the patients who were treated with according to a mono protocol eather whit poly-l-lactic acid or hyaluronic acid . The treatment with a combined protocol allowed as to reduce the number of patients’s visits to the clinic and to get a high level of patients’s satisfaction.
Conclusion: Hybrid protocols combining the application of injectable poly-L-lactic acid and hyaluronic acid are characterized by safety and hight predictable performance.
