Objectives: Elastin is an ECM protein that plays an important role in maintaining the skin’s structure.
It is highly elastic and helps the tissue regain its shape after stretching or contracting. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the product containing amino acids, copper, and hyaluronic acid on the improvement of skin aging. A small open single-center study involved four treatments performed on five subjects at 1-week intervals with Elastic Lab®.

Introduction: The composition increased the gene and protein expression levels of collagen and elastin by over two- and three-fold, respectively. The test results indicated that this unique composition successively promotes ECM protein synthesis in dermal fibroblasts [23]. However, further studies are still needed to confirm the effect of improving elastin synthesis on skin aging. In this study, a clinical trial was conducted to confirm whether this particular composition has anti-aging effects including wrinkle reduction, skin moisture, elasticity, thickness, and density improvement.

Materials / method: A small open single-center study was conducted with a total of five subjects treated with Elastic Lab® to evaluate its efficacy on skin anti-aging by observing changes in eye wrinkles, skin moisture, inner elasticity, thickness, and density.

Results: The results confirmed the anti-aging effects of Elastic Lab® products containing amino acids, copper, and hyaluronic acid. The product was administered to five subjects at one-week intervals for four sessions, and evaluations were performed a week later. The results showed improvements in all evaluation criteria for all subjects. On average, the wrinkle depth around the eyes decreased by 8.955%, skin moisture increased by 14.301%, skin elasticity increased by 23.429%, skin thickness increased by 7.321%, and skin density increased by 12.509%.

Conclusion: We can conclude that skin elasticity, thickness, and density showed considerable improvements as amino acids and various components stimulated the skin fibroblasts to produce ECM proteins such as collagen and elastin. However, due to the small number of subjects, the statistical significance of this study is relatively low. Therefore, additional large-scale clinical trials are needed. Furthermore, studies to measure changes in elastin and collagen contents due to application of the product in tissues of various models using multiphoton microscopy are also needed.

Objectives: PRP therapy is effective in improving skin quality, but in general, PRP alone does not produce a clear augmentation effect. I focused on the mechanism of cytokine network in the wound healing process and established PRPF therapy as a more effective and safer method for the action of cytokines. Subcutaneously injected PRPF quickly converts to gel and can neoform local fat after 1 month. The amount of new fat is almost equal to the amount injected PRPF gel, and the effect lasts for more than four years.

Introduction: After collaborative research with the Institute for Frontier Medical Sciences, Kyoto University, I established my own protocol "PRPF Therapy" over about 3 years based on literature review and detailed follow-up of patients. Various basic studies and reports of clinical applications in other fields have shown that cytokines’ effect is dramatically enhanced when they are applied locally and continuously for a certain period of time. Since 2009, I have experienced more than 1,000 cases over the past 14 years and have obtained good results without any notable side effects.

Materials / method: LP-PRP adjusted to 1~1.5 million μ/ℓ is added to 2.5 ml of saline solution containing a trafermin preparation (Fiblast Spray 250 KAKEN SEIYAKU). The amount added is 0.1 ml to 0.2 ml per 1 ml of PRP, which corresponds to 10 to 20 μg of b-FGF. This is filled into a syringe and injected with a 30G needle into the depressed area of the face, neck wrinkles as needed. The PRPF becomes gel immediately after injection, and be converted mainly to fat in about one month.

Long-term follow-up showed that the augmentation effect and skin quality improvement lasted an average of at least 4 years.

Conclusion: We believe that PRPF therapy, in which an appropriate amount of b-FGF is added to LP-PRP adjusted to an appropriate concentration, has led to a high augmentation effect, mainly through lipogenesis, as PRPF gels at the injection site and cytokines act locally for a certain period of time. In addition, skin texture improvement effects such as skin firmness and fading of melasma were observed in almost all cases.

Objectives: As we age, lipid metabolism changes so that excess adipose tissue is stored as visceral fat rather than subcutaneous fat. While many claim that skin is the largest human organ, in many people the volume of fat far surpasses the volume of skin.
Visceral fat behaves quite differently than subcutaneous fat, and alteration in free fatty acid synthesis and storage, changes in insulin sensitivity, and increases in % body fat and BMI with associated skeletal muscle mass loss can influence the development of metabolic syndrome and overall longevity.

Introduction: There are currently no good solutions for visceral fat. While diet and exercise are recommended, no long term effective program currently exists. Semaglutide injections target subcutaneous fat as well as muscle mass. HIFEM plus RF can decrease visceral fat by 15-20% 3 months post-treatment, but these changes are hard to maintain. A prospective study utilizing a new topically applied serum was studied in fifteen qualified patients was performed in order to test a topical supplement.

Materials / method: Fifteen patients ages 30-75 enrolled in a prospective study in which a topical serum targeted towards improving lipid metabolism was applied to the abdomen twice a day. Parameters measured included a comprehensive metabolic blood profile, 2D and 3D photos, bioimpedance analysis, and waist circumference. Bioimpedance analysis measured weight, BMI, % body fat, skeletal muscle mass, and visceral fat in cm2. These parameters were measured before treatment inception and at 1 month and 2 months post daily treatment. A daily journal was kept in order to application and to note any adverse effects.

Results: All patients noted improvement but results varied from mild to dramatic improvement in the following parameters: visceral fat reduction, % body fat reduction, retention or enhancement of skeletal muscle mass, and improvement of lipid metabolism. Common changes in lipid measurements: decrease in serum triglycerides, increase in HDL, decrease in total cholesterol and LDL. Fasting glucose measurements were not significantly affected. Clinical improvement included a decrease in subcutaneous fat in the abdominal region and decrease in profile protrusion of the abdomen. No adverse events occurred.

Conclusion: Age accumulated visceral fat and associated metabolic syndrome affect 41.6 million Americans. A promising topical serum has been developed that primarily affects the AMPK pathway targets aging lipid metabolism and when used regularly can decrease the risk of metabolic syndrome.
