Objectives: The purposes of this presentation are to introduce the ultrasonographic (US) anatomical findings of the face and to provide the reference images on each landmark of the face. Therefore, an in-depth anatomical understanding using an US imaging system can yield depth and orientation on the facial muscles, blood vessels, and fascial structures of the facial area that were previously impossible to obtain.

Introduction: Anatomically, the face is the most complicated structure of the human body. Especially, the structure of facial muscles including nerves and vessels is very variable and has the racial differences. Recently, the importance on the facial anatomy has been reconsidered as the interest on the facial aesthetics is increasing. In this reason, the aesthetic physicians should understand the facial anatomical structures prior to performing the clinical procedures.

Materials / method: The vasculature of the face is supplied by the facial and ophthalmic arteries and some branches from the external carotid system. Above the upper lip area, facial artery branches off the superior labial artery to supply to the upper lip. And there are some small branches supply to the columellar area, it is called as columellar branch. And on the way to the angular area, there are two branches with a reference of the nose ala, below the nose ala there is one branch, the inferior alar artery. Above nose ala, running about the 4mm above the alar crease, and then finally supply to tip of nose.

Results: To avoid the serious complications after the procedure, the detailed vascular anatomy of the face is essential. In this presentation, I would like to show (1) the whole running courses of the facial artery (FA) and superficial temporal artery (STA), (2) the origin and nature of the angular artery, (3) the layered location of supratrochlear and supraorbital artery at the forehead, (4) the vasculatures of the nose, and (5) the courses and distribution patterns of the labial artery around upper and lower lip.

Conclusion: Through this presentation, I would like to introduce the facial US anatomical findings based on in-depth morphological studies using an US imaging. In addition, the static and dynamic facial US imaging and the individual variations of the facial vessels related to various procedures for the safe and efficient clinical applications will be demonstrated.

Objectives: to be able to provide information and clarity about MRI as an imaging tool to detect injectable fillers, mainly HA , quantify them, serially monitor effects of injecting as well as dissolving them, to help in safe injection and optimal use of injectables

Introduction: Imaging of injectable fillers is a new tool which includes high resolution ultrasound and MRI. Radiologists world over are familiarising themselves with the appearance of these fillers, to be able to detect, quantify and serially image them with as much standardisation, without tissue characteristics and operator variation affecting the assessment.

Materials / method: MRI studies of various patients over a period of time with soft tissue 3D reconstructions where possible.

Conclusion: MRI of the face, especially Fat Suppression sequences can clearly demonstrate HA filler, and provide with serial quantification to evaluate efficacy of treatments both to remove undesirable filler material or to inject. 3 D soft tissue MRI reconstruction seems to be a promising tool to present , review and help in safe and effective injectable filler treatments.

Objectives: 9 soft tissue layers in dorsal hand were identified using sonography for the first time by the author. This was published in PRS journal, and very new detailed sono-anatomy for hand dorsum will be very interest for doctors in IMCAS.
After injection of HA filler, the changes of Thickness, Roughness, and Hydration on dorsal hand were evaluated.

Introduction: Using sonography, soft tissue thickness can be measured accurately to assess volumizing effects.
Sono-anatomy of hand dorsum by Rohich (Chief editor of PRS journal) had many errors.
Thus the author tried to refined more detail soft tissue layers in sonography.

Materials / method: In this prospective study, 1cc of monophasic stabilized hyaluronic acid(mS-HA) filler was injected utilizing subdermal scrapping fanning injection technique(ssFIT) into the dorsal superficial lamina(DSL) and dorsal intermediate lamina(DIL) for 20 patients, and the results were measured utilizing sonographic evaluation of soft tissue thickness, topographic computer analysis(TCA) of skin roughness, stratum corneum hydration (SCH) at 1-week,1,2,3,6-months.

Results: The hand appearance and skin roughness improved in all patients. Soft tissue thickness in sonography was increased by 4.52mm(immediately-post-treatment), 5.52mm(1week), 4.89mm(1month), 4.25mm(2m), 4.08mm(3m), and 3.86mm(6m) from the pre-treatment baseline of 3.20mm. Roughness evaluated by TCA in 50(10) magnification dermascope photos, was reduced by 15.39(16.17)% at 1-month post-treatment, 21.5(18.12)% at 2-months, 22.7(23.91)% at 3-months, 27.16(38.12)% at 6-months, indicating improvements in fine wrinkles after the procedure. SCH on hand dorsum slightly improved during the study.

Conclusion: Detailed subdivided 9-layers of hand dorsum in sonography were established in this study for the first time. Soft tissue thickness was increased more than 32% after the treatment, and placed HA materials was confirmed mainly in DSL. The hand appearance and skin roughness improved in all patients. Veins and tendons became less apparent after the single injection showing volumizing effects lasting more than 6 months. All patients stated that their skin became more moisturized with increased SCH, youthful and smooth during the follow-up period after only one session.
