Arm lipo-injection: a novel compression-free solution for upper arm contouring
Objectives: By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1.Understand the clinical limitations of mandatory compression in conventional upper arm liposuction.
2.Recognize the theoretical rationale and technical concept of Arm Lipo-Injection, a novel compression-free approach.
3.Identify appropriate patient selection criteria and the postoperative management protocol for this technique.
4.Appreciate the clinical utility and safety profile of Arm Lipo-Injection based on a series of more than 100 cases.
Introduction: Upper arm liposuction provides reliable contouring outcomes but conventionally requires three to six weeks of postoperative compression. The discomfort, lifestyle restrictions, and skin issues caused by prolonged compression discourage many patients from undergoing the procedure. Injection lipolysis offers a compression-free alternative but remains inferior to liposuction in fat-reduction efficacy. This presentation introduces Arm Lipo-Injection, a novel treatment combining the reliable contouring efficacy of liposuction with a compression-free postoperative course.
Materials / method: Arm Lipo-Injection is based on the same mechanical principle as conventional liposuction, using a microcannula to aspirate subcutaneous fat from the upper arm. Its defining innovation lies in the deliberate control of aspirated volume, which eliminates the need for postoperative compression garments. Drawing on our experience with more than 100 cases, this presentation outlines the rationale, patient selection criteria, surgical technique, and postoperative management protocol, supported by representative cases.
Results: Across more than 100 cases, satisfactory and consistent contour improvement was achieved without the use of compression garments. No clinically significant hematoma, seroma, or contour irregularity was observed, and the procedure demonstrated a favorable safety profile. Patients reported a marked improvement in postoperative quality of life and a substantial reduction in downtime, attributable to the absence of compression.
Conclusion: Arm Lipo-Injection unites the reliable efficacy of liposuction with the comfort of a compression-free recovery. Our experience of more than 100 cases supports both its clinical utility and safety. By removing the principal barrier that has long deterred patients from upper arm contouring, this approach broadens the eligible patient population and has the potential to become a new standard in the Asian aesthetic market.
