Objectives: (1) understand the evolution of men's attitude towards cosmeceuticals/cosmetic treatments in the past 50 years, and the background events that facilitated this transformation
(2) While more and more men are embracing cosmetic treatments, they also suffer from increasing masculine gender role stress. How do we cope with this phenomenon
(3) the difference between traditional, toxic masculinity and new masculinity

Introduction: In the past few decades, the percentage increase of cosmetic treatments for men is higher than women. But cosmetic treatments or cosmeceuticals used to be perceived as feminine just a generation ago. Consumerism, gender equality, social media, all contribute to this transformation. In terms of cosmetic-treatment-seeking behaviors, there are many differences between men and women. Also, facing the increasing masculine gender role stress (traditional role of men being challanged), some men react in a negative way (BDD, toxic masculinity). It's time to re-define masculinity.

Conclusion: Toxic masculinity refers to certain harmful cultural and societal norms that are associated with masculinity such as maintaining the appearance of being tough or dominant, encouraging violent attitudes and behaviour, and suppressing emotions or distress.
Modern new masculinity reflects the embodiment of men who are sensitive, thoughtful, creative, and openly embrace their identity
Having cosmetic treatments really doesn’t reduce your masculinity, in a study on women’s perception of men receiving cosmetic procedures

Objectives: 1. To present a dermatologist's perspective on the medical and aesthetic approach to rejuvenate and enhance the facial features of 10 Asian men.
2. To demonstrate how a combination of treatment modalities (injectables, lasers, energy-based devices) can improve the signs of facial ageing.

Introduction: Men have become a significant segment of the aesthetic industry. Despite the demand, men have been ignored in studies involving beauty and ageing, which focused mainly on the female face. Successful aesthetic treatments by dermatologists require medical treatment of skin diseases and a holistic approach to approach changes related to ageing. A combination of non-surgical anti-ageing modalities is often required to meet the goals and expectations by the patients. Balance and harmony are essential to achieve a favorable cosmetic outcome.

Materials / method: 10 males aged 25 to 71 (mean age=38), Jan 2019-present. All patients were initially seen because of skin diseases. The patients were classified in the following age groups: 25-34.11; 35-44.11; 45-54.11; 55-64.11; 65-75. A treatment plan was created on all patients which consists of the ff:
1. Anamnesis
2. A treatment plan for the skin condition
3. Structural assessment/Visual impact analysis was conducted which included morphology, structure, equilibrium, skin quality, wrinkles, sagginess, projection and expression.
4. Diet and exercise
All patients underwent non-invasive and minimally inv

Results: All patients initially presented with a skin disease. Request for aesthetic procedures started only when their skin condition has improved significantly. Patients who belong to the 25 to 34 age group requested for prejuvenation and regular rejuvenation treatments to prevent and slow down the signs of ageing, respectively . Patients in the 45 and above age group were the most challenging as changes related to ageing required a combination of aesthetic procedures. All patients expressed satisfaction on combination treatments. No serious side effects were encountered on subsequent follow-up.

Conclusion: The number of male patients seeking aesthetic treatment continuosly increase. The dermatologist should be able to create a more holistic plan which do not only address treatment of skin conditions but also enhancement of facial features, overall skin health, health lifestyle/behavior and rejuvenation
