Objectives: Given a more and more liberal discourse about sexual relations, identities and a surge in demand for procedures that address the human genitalia, we wanted to understand which historical precedings make even us medical professionals still struggle with talking about our most private parts today.

Introduction: Starting with the first anatomical descriptions of the human genital components, we explored which geographic and societal components are influencing the way we think and speak about all sex-related issues up until today.

Materials / method: We conducted a broad research taking into account historical anatomical publications and books in evolving editions, theories of sexual development and sex educations as well as the voices of sexual psychology experts.

Results: Events, developments and findings of over 2000 years back in history still influence how we think, talk and act about the topic of human genitalia and sexual reproduction today. Being aware of these influences and biases can help us as medical service providers.

Conclusion: Understanding the complex history, we can learn to better communicate with our patients, remove taboos that hinder open discourse in this growing market and provide the highest grade of care in performing genital treatments whilst understanding the clients motivation better.

Objectives: The desire to maintain a youthful and healthy appearance has led to the search for effective treatments in the field of aesthetics. Among the various options available, collagen stimulation treatment has gained popularity for its ability to deliver natural results and a comprehensive rejuvenating effect.

Introduction: Collagen stimulation treatment is based on the premise that the skin can regenerate and rejuvenate itself by activating its own natural processes. As we age, collagen production decreases, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles, loss of firmness, and uneven tone. This treatment addresses those problems on three distinct levels such as Epidermis, Dermis, Hypodermis and Periosteum.

Objectives: Our double-blind longitudinal clinical psychological research included 14 menopausal women with high FSFI satisfaction scores following laser or RF vaginal interventions.

We demonstrated a high positive correlation between the subjects’ FSFI scores and the Hy (hysteria), D (Depression) and L (Lie) scales of the MMPI-2. Such high positive correlation between the FSFI and the L-scale negates the reported increase in female sexual satisfaction following laser or RF vaginal rejuvenation.

Introduction: Several women strive to solve the aging problem by placing their hopes on surgical procedures which have recently given way to laser and RF interventions. The goal is to empower females because secretly boiling resentment and dissatisfaction can affect both the quality and integrity of the family unit that is primarily held together by the female. Female sexual satisfaction is only superficially addressed after vaginal rejuvenation treatments with several laser and RF technologies when doctors give a short self-report questionnaire like the FSFI that can be easily faked.

Materials / method: In this study we examined the hidden negative emotions harboured by females who professed high sexual satisfaction after vaginal intervention techniques, merely because they were content that their partners were satisfied, ignoring the impact that their repressed feelings had on their interpersonal relationships.

Results: We demonstrated a high positive correlation between the subjects’ FSFI scores and the Hy (hysteria), D (Depression) and L (Lie) scales of the MMPI-2. Such high positive correlation between the FSFI and the L-scale negates the reported increase in female sexual satisfaction following laser or RF vaginal rejuvenation. The high positive correlations of the FSFI with the Hy and D scales indicate that despite reports of increased sexual satisfaction, the vaginal procedures did not improve psychological wellbeing or quality of life.

Conclusion: Results on the DES revealed that 98% of the subjects were organized around the emotions of shame, sadness and joy. Such results indicate a multilayered emotional organization that possibly reflects joy on the outside and shame and sadness on the inside. Several vaginal rejuvenation techniques measure sexual satisfaction on the basis of self-reported short questionnaires, oblivious to the reality of hidden, denied, or repressed psychological issues stemming out of intrapsychic conflicts or a physiological imbalance related to hormones and neurotransmitters or both.
