Objectives: Facial soft-tissue augmentation with dermal filler products has become very popular. These products are considered safe, having mostly mild and transient adverse events but serious complications related to the interrupted blood supply to eyes or the nose can occur with dermal injection. Repair technique initially was called the HELPIR technique. HELPIR is an acronym H= Hyperbaric oxygen E= Epithelial stimulation L= Low-level light laser (633nm) P= PRP I =IPL R= Resurfacing laser. Introduction: Rare vascular complications with HA fillers may include either arterial embolus or possible venous compression during or after the event which results in reticulation some hours later that may lead to total skin necrosis within a few days. Now introducing the PLUS Technique - Combining PRP and MSC mesenchymal stem cells to form epithelium

Materials / method: The PLUS Technique - Combining PRP and MSC mesenchymal stem cells and red light to enhance skin healing. (30 mins)

Results: Vascular complications caused by arterial embolus secondary to HA and CaHA fillers resulting in reticulation and early skin necrosis treated by combining PRP and MSC mesenchymal stem cells and red light to enhance epithelial formation

Conclusion: Informative lecture showing cases of vascular occlusions and chemical burns dealt with by PRP and Stem Cells combined to stimulate epidermal repair

Objectives: We describe for the first time a technology that allows to get a comprehensive overview of the facial arterial anatomy, in augmented reality (AR) on the screen of an iPhone, named ARtery3D. We intended to validate the accuracy of the technology by doppler and duplex and to analyze the effect of ARtery3D on the incidence and duration of bruising.

Introduction: As filler injections are increasingly performed nowadays, there is a rapid rise in the number of complications; intra-arterial injection of HA may lead to skin necrosis or even blindness. Due to a strong variability of the arterial course of the face, one can never guarantee a completely safe filler injection. For the first time, we report a way to visualize the individual arterial anatomy of anyone’s face accurately and dynamically through AR, based on a contrast-free MRA.

Materials / method: - 20 patients who had undergone an MRA were evaluated by doppler and duplex to verify the location of the visualized arteries.
- 200 patients received standardized injections in the malar area, either under visualization of their anatomy using the ARtery3D application, or without. The incidence of bruising was analyzed, size of eventual bruising and duration of the bruises. Injection pain was also measured.

Results: - the average variation of the location of the arteries was 0,3mm (SD +/- 0,7mm), indicating the accuracy of the ARtery3D technology.
- applying the ARtery3D technology yielded a 3-fold decrease in bruising after injections in the malar area, with significantly smaller bruises and shorter duration of the bruises.

Conclusion: Besides reducing the chances on intra-arterial injection, ARtery3D is has become an essential tool to improve the patient comfort and safety in the day-to-day cosmetic practice.

Objectives: 1. Understand the need for wound care after vascular occlusion (VO) treatment
2. Understand the science behind hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) and continuous diffusion of oxygen (CDO)
3. Understand the advantages and disadvantages of HBO vs CDO
4. Show examples of treating skin using CDO that is recovering from a vascular occlusion.

Introduction: Vascular occlusion from filler can often result in skin injury even with the best and expeditious treatment. Misdiagnosis and delays in therapy can lead to skin necrosis. It is essential that proper wound care is performed for optimal outcomes. Improving tissue oxygenation will lead to less scarring. The current gold standard is HBO. Dr. Weiner introduces CDO for treat skin after a vascular occlusion.

Materials / method: Dr. Weiner explains the science behind HBO and CDO. He then compares the 2 technologies.

Results: Dr. Weiner shows results in 3 patients who had vascular occlusions who were treated with CDO.

Conclusion: Even after clearance of a vascular occlusion, it is essential to perform proper wound care to ensure optimal outcomes. Enhancing the oxygenation of the tissues will improve healing. CDO has been demonstrated to heal tissues expeditiously and is a low cost alternative to HBO.
