2. Technique used
3. Results
4. Patient satisfaction
All procedures were done with open rhinoplasty.
Results: Initial cases relied more on minimalist suture techniques. These results were often camouflaged under a thick skin envelope. Further evolution included, greater use of grafts, wide undermining, skin thining, eliminating dead space, and focus on skin case including use of retinoids. These changes led to better results and greater patient satisfaction
Conclusion: Rhinoplasty is a fascinating surgery where multiple roads can lead to the same destination. However Indian noses have their unique features which need to be respected. The novice surgeon needs to understand that not all techniques used in western noses transfer equally to Indian noses. Respecting anatomy and adapting our techniques can ensure pleasing results.
