Objectives: 1. Understand the classification of neck aging
2. Appreciate when nonsurgical and/or minimally invasive treatments are indicated or contraindicated in neck rejuvenation
3. Highlight an understanding of bipolar radiofrequency technology and its advantages
4. Develop an understanding of applications of bipolar and fractional radiofrequency technology in the neck area and effective combinations
5. Develop strategies for avoiding complications and treating them when they occur
Introduction: The neck remains the most challenging area for rejuvenation both surgically or non surgically. The demand for minimally invasive procedures in this area are increasing, especially amongst the gap population who are not quite ready or have the appropriate indications for an excisional procedure. This talk will provide an overview on one modality that has been very beneficial in neck again in the correct patient group, namely internal and fractional bipolar radiofrequency.
Materials / method: This is a clinical experience talk that will share an overview of pertinent studies and techniques in bipolar radiofrequency applications in neck aging and will include video extracts and images.
Results: Internal and fractional bipolar radiofrequency result in significant levels of tissue contraction and tightening. Very few complications are encountered and the results are long lasting.
Conclusion: Internal and fractional bipolar radiofrequency is a safe and effective modality when applied to the neck with moderate aging. Several adjunctive treatments can be used in combination to improve outcomes and longevity further.
