Objectives: Experimental work: In a living human model, radiofrequency was applied with three different types of needles (insulated, semi-insulated, and non-insulated) at various depths, and a pattern of parameters for the three different types of needles was repeated—patient with criteria for dermolipectomy. The samples were biopsied and then analyzed histologically. The findings, similarities, differences, and conclusions will be presented.
Introduction: There has been much discussion about which type of microneedle works best, insulated vs. non-insulated in radiofrequency equipment. Different companies and different types of MNRF equipment opt for one needle or another. The author decided to test the type of lesion caused by 3 different types of needle to draw conclusions from this.
Materials / method: Female patient who voluntarily signed a consent to perform these tests on abdominal skin that was to be removed during a dermolipectomy surgery.
The same intensities and the same depth were applied with the 3 types of needles and then these pieces of skin were cut and sent to be analyzed.
Results: Differences were found in the type of lesion of the dermis and hypodermis.
Conclusion: The author proposes different types of indications for the 3 different types of microneedles.
