Objectives: 1. Review anatomic considerations of the neck. 2. Discuss ideal candidates and surgical approach for deep neck lift. 3. Illustrate surgical approach in practice via before and after neck lift case examples. Introduction: Deep neck lift has emerged as an increasingly popular jawline and neck contouring procedure. This surgery is applicable to a variety of patients who possess ill-defined profiles due to congenital or aging anatomic considerations and yields the most definitive results. Materials / method: The author will discuss surgical anatomic considerations of the ill-defined neck and her evolving surgical approach to embracing deep neck lift in her own practice. She will review her surgical technique and tips for deep neck lift surgery. Results: The author will demonstrate her surgical approach in practice as illustrated in real before and after patient photographs. She will also share lessons learned in her patient results. Conclusion: Deep neck lift is the most definitive treatment option for jawline and neck contouring. In the right candidate and with the appropriate surgical approach, this surgery yields life changing, definitive, long lasting results. A keen knowledge of neck anatomy and surgical principles behind deep neck lift technique are key to achieving successful neck lift outcomes.
