Intradermal compound collagen injection: One of the best treatments for skin improvement
Objectives: To investigate the effects of full-face intradermal compound collagen injection on skin properties.
Introduction: Collagen, a key component of the extracellular matrix (ECM), plays a critical role in maintaining skin firmness and elasticity. With aging and exposure to factors such as ultraviolet light and chemical stressors, collagen undergoes reduced synthesis, increased degradation, and alterations in subtype ratios, leading to facial aging and wrinkle formation. In recent years, collagen has become a widely used agent in aesthetic injectable treatments due to its ability to regulate extracellular matrix mechanisms and ameliorate vascular inflammatory responses.
Materials / method: Nine eligible subjects meeting inclusion/exclusion criteria underwent a single full-face compound collagen negative-pressure microneedle injection (5 mL, 12.5 mg) at a depth of 1.0–1.2 mm. Skin parameters were evaluated at D0 (baseline), immediately post-treatment, D7, and D28 using the following measurements: (VISIA®, Canfield);(MPA580®, Courage + Khazaka); (Ultrascan UC22®, Courage + Khazaka).
Results: All nine subjects completed the 28-day follow-up without complications. Statistically significant differences (P < 0.05) were observed in the percentage changes at D28 for hydration, radiance, elasticity parameters R2 (%), F4/(mm·s), and epidermal and dermal thickness compared to baseline.
Conclusion: Intradermal collagen injection is a safe and effective method to improve skin properties in subjects.
