Can we still work without a safety net?
目标: hemostatic net: meke it simple!
介绍: Since its publication by Auerswald about ten years ago, the use of an hemostatic net to limit the risk of bleeding during significant undermining in a facelift has been so successful that it now seems difficult to do without it.
结果: However, following two incidents in 2014 (before this publication) that were resolved with simple quilting, this very old method has become a routine procedure in our daily practice for any significant undermining. Depending on its extent, 5 to 8 percutaneous sutures are more than sufficient to prevent any risk of bleeding that could require revision surgery: continuous sutures across the entire face (the “net”) therefore do not appear to offer any additional advantage, lengthening the procedure and postoperative recovery without improving safety. The need for drainage is thus completely elimi
总结: This ancient but effective technique, applied very recently to several parotid interventions as part of a humanitarian mission, confirms its value far beyond cosmetic surgery.
