Helium plasma Radiofrequency assisted Mastopexy : Innovation in Scarless Breast Lift
Objectives: To demonstrate the efficacy and safety of helium plasma RF for minimally invasive mastopexy.
Introduction: Traditional mastopexy corrects breast ptosis but leaves scars and requires longer recovery. Helium plasma radiofrequency (RF) provides controlled tissue contraction and coagulation,
enabling scarless breast lifting.
Materials / method: Fifteen (15) patients with mild to moderate ptosis underwent helium plasma RF to their breast. Outcomes were assessed at 30, 90, 180 days with blinded photographic review , morphometric analysis , GAIS , Breast-Q and patient satisfaction.
Results: At Day 180, 73% (11/15) achieved photographic success. Morphometric improvements were observed over time, and also in P-GAIS and I-GAIS. All patients (15/15) reported less sagging, higher appearance of breasts on the chest, improved nipple placement, more youthful-appearing breasts, and improved confidence and quality of life. No complications or procedure related pain occurred.
Conclusion: Helium Plasm RF is a safe , well tolerated and effective option for scarless mastopexy . It achieves measurable breast lift , improves patient satisfaction and avoids the morbidity of traditional surgery, offering a valuable addition to the plastic surgeon's toolkit.
