Standardization of the use of biostimulators for volume loss and vulvar laxity
Objectives: The objectives are to establish a standardization
and a systematization for the use of different types of biostimulators according to the characteristics of each patient's vulva, especially
with regard to the degree of flaccidity and the amount of adipose tissue present.
Introduction: Collagen biostimulators are today the gold standard for the treatment of facial and body sagging and,
therefore, also for the intimate area, especially in the region of labia majora. Today the main collagen biostimulators are poly-L-lactic
acid, caprolactone and calcium hydroxyapatite associated or not with hyaluronic acid. To determine what kind of biostimulator fits each kind of vulva based on anatomy is essential for best results.
Materials / method: We divided patients complaints and finds in following: 1)Low grade labia majora laxity with normal fat : poli-L-lactic acid
1/2 vial 2) High grade labia majora laxity with normal fat : ácido poli-L-lactic 1/2 vial 3 sessions - 30 days 3)Low grade labia majora
laxity with low grade fat loss: calcium hydroxyapatite 2 syringes 2 sessions 4)Low grade labia majora laxity with high grade fat loss:
calcium hydroxyapatite plus hyaluronic acid 2 syringes 5)High grade labia majora laxity with high grade fat loss: caprolactone 2
syringes 2 sessions plus poli -L- lactic acid 1/2 vial 2 sessions.
Results: The results are based on the author’s experience of more than 15 years on biostimulators especially in genital area. The results
achieved with these techniques are superior than the techniques that uses the same products for all the patients. With this
systematization authors have minimal complications, creating a way to have a safe and easy to perform standardized technique.
Conclusion: Despite biostimulators are best products for skin laxity there is a lack of evidence and systematized process to choose the
ideal product for intimate area. A standardized pattern is fundamental to achieving good results and avoiding complications. With this
systematization is possible having more predictable outcomes and better results even in less experience hands.
