Laser-Assisted Subcision with Endolift Technique for Acne Scar Treatment
Objectives: To present a novel minimally invasive approach for atrophic acne scar treatment combining subcision with a 1470 nm radial fiber diode laser. Attendees will understand clinical outcomes, patient satisfaction, and safety profile of this laser-assisted subcision method, applicable in advanced acne scar management.
Introduction: Atrophic acne scars are challenging to treat with lasting results and minimal downtime. Subcision alone has limitations in precision and tissue remodeling. Integrating subcision with targeted laser energy may enhance scar release and stimulate neocollagenesis for improved outcomes.
Materials / method: Twelve patients (9 female, 3 male; aged 21–42) with moderate-to-severe rolling or boxcar scars underwent single-session laser-assisted subcision using a 1470 nm radial fiber diode laser under local anesthesia. Results were assessed at 6 months using GAIS, VAS, standardized photos, and adverse event monitoring.
Results: 75% of patients showed >50% improvement in GAIS scores. Average satisfaction score was 8.7/10. Mild, transient erythema and swelling resolved within 3–5 days. No serious complications or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) were observed.
Conclusion: Laser-assisted subcision using a 1470 nm radial fiber diode laser is a safe, effective, and well-tolerated method for atrophic acne scars. It combines mechanical release with thermal stimulation for enhanced outcomes and high patient satisfaction, with minimal downtime.
