Hybrid Hyaluronic Acid Injectable for Non-Volumizing Facial Bioremodeling: A Clinical Evaluation
Objectives: To evaluate the efficacy of a skin booster formulation, combining high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, injected at the subdermal level, in improving skin quality and contour in areas commonly affected by aging or fat loss, using a two-session protocol spaced one month apart.
Introduction: Skin quality restoration is a major challenge in patients with facial or body aging and in those who have experienced significant weight loss. A new generation of injectable hyaluronic acid treatment has been developed, that combines both high and low molecular weight HA, allowing for a more comprehensive approach to skin lifting and contouring. Unlike conventional dermal fillers, this formulation does not rely on volumization but instead stimulates natural tissue regeneration and elasticity. It stimulates fibroblasts (in the dermis), adipocytes (in the fat layer), and osteoblasts.
Materials / method: A clinical evaluation was conducted on 30 female patients aged 35–60 presenting with mild to moderate facial and/or body laxity. Patients complaining of facial sagging, or sunken faces were included. Each patient received two sessions of treatment spaced four weeks apart, using a standardized injection technique.
Clinical outcomes were assessed using standardized photography (before and after), physician global aesthetic improvement scale (GAIS), and patient satisfaction questionnaires over a follow-up period of 3–6 months.
Results: All patients showed improvement in skin hydration, elasticity, and tightening and contour improvement. No significant adverse events occurred, and mild reactions such as redness and swelling resolved within 24–48 hours. The two-session protocol demonstrated significant improvement in skin texture, elasticity, and contour restoration. Areas such as the neck, knees, and buttocks showed particularly noticeable tightening and rejuvenation. Patients reported high satisfaction rates, and results were sustained for several months. Treatment was well tolerated with minimal adverse effects.
Conclusion: This next-generation HA-based injectable represents a safe and effective solution for non-volumizing facial bioremodeling. Especially for patients experiencing age-related changes or skin laxity after weight loss, applicable to both facial and body areas. It serves as a valuable tool in aesthetic practice, offering natural-looking results with minimal downtime, and can be integrated into a wide range of facial rejuvenation protocols.
