Orbital reconstruction with ultrapure hyaluronic acid fillers in a patient with enucleation for retinoblastoma.
目标: Teaching Objective:
To illustrate the use of ultrapure hyaluronic acid fillers as a novel, minimally invasive approach for orbital reconstruction in an anophthalmic patient, highlighting their potential to restore facial symmetry and structure without surgical intervention.
介绍: Retinoblastoma often requires enucleation, leading to long-term aesthetic and functional challenges. Orbital contracture and anophthalmic socket syndrome are common. Surgical options like dermis fat grafting carry risks and complications. Non-surgical alternatives are lacking. Ultrapure hyaluronic acid fillers offer a biocompatible, minimally invasive option for restoring orbital volume and symmetry in selected patients.
材料 / 方法: A 21-year-old woman with post-enucleation orbital volume loss underwent ultrasound-guided injection of ultrapure hyaluronic acid fillers under sedation. Three formulations were used: high-density cross-linked gel for structural support (1 ml), hybrid HA complex for deep biointegration (1 ml), and intermediate-density gel for contour refinement (1 ml). Real-time ultrasound ensured safe, precise filler placement.
结果: At 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days, the patient showed progressive improvement in facial symmetry and tissue regeneration with minimal inflammation. No fibrosis or product migration was observed. The combination of ultrapure hyaluronic acid gels allowed effective structural restoration with harmonious tissue integration, avoiding the need for surgical reconstruction.
总结: Ultrapure hyaluronic acid fillers provided a safe, effective, and minimally invasive solution for orbital reconstruction in an anophthalmic patient. The treatment improved facial symmetry and tissue quality without complications, offering a promising alternative to surgery in selected cases.
