How to utilize a needle-free jet injector effectively: from scar revision to global rejuvenation
Objectives: Participants will gain an understanding of the clinical applications of needle-free jet injection for acne scars, hypertrophic scars, dilated pores, wrinkles, hair loss, and cutaneous aging. The session will review clinical outcomes, treatment selection, protocol optimization, safety considerations, and practical strategies for incorporating this technology into routine aesthetic practice.
Introduction: Various techniques are available for intradermal delivery of therapeutic agents, including manual injection, multi-needle injection, microneedling, and laser-assisted delivery. Needle-free jet injection is an innovative approach that enables precise delivery of small volumes into the superficial dermis without needles. In addition to drug delivery, the high-velocity jet induces controlled mechanical stress, promoting tissue remodeling and regeneration.
Materials / method: Over the past two years, needle-free jet injection has been incorporated into our routine clinical practice for acne scars, hypertrophic scars, dilated pores, wrinkles, hair loss, and skin rejuvenation. Treatment outcomes were assessed across various indications, with particular attention to acne scar revision and nasal pore tightening. Practical treatment protocols, safety considerations, and combination approaches with other modalities were also evaluated.
Results: Needle-free jet injection produced consistently favorable clinical outcomes, particularly in acne scar revision and pore tightening. Compared with conventional treatments such as subcision, TCA CROSS, and laser resurfacing, it offered less downtime and a more favorable safety profile. The technique was especially useful for challenging areas such as the nose and for patients with Asian skin types who are more prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
Conclusion: Needle-free jet injection is an effective and versatile modality for scar revision and skin rejuvenation. By combining mechanical stimulation with pharmacologic delivery, it can improve clinical outcomes while minimizing downtime and safety concerns. Its broad applicability and favorable risk profile make it a valuable addition to contemporary aesthetic practice.
