Introduction: Cryolipolysis is a method of body contouring that relies on using controlled cooling to selectively target and remove unwanted fat. Over 30 million treatments have been performed world-wide with cryolipolysis devices for fat removal. Present devices use interchangeable applicators with thermoelectric cooling plates, and in most cases vacuum suction, specific to treatment areas. We will review the currently available cryolipolysis devices in US and Europe and discuss some of the side effects associated with treatments.
